ABOUT THE PROJECT

Aims and Goals of the Project

The project for Developing Virtual and Augmented Reality (VR/AR) Supported Digital Training Materials (DTM) for Hybrid and Electric Vehicles aims to create easily accessible training materials to meet the vocational education needs in this field.

In this context, digital training materials will be developed to enhance the teaching/learning performance and quality of education related to the maintenance and servicing of hybrid and electric vehicles. These materials will include educational content and e-books supported by VR/AR applications and QR codes.

Given that the project's outputs address a relatively new field, they are expected to provide a solution to the high-cost issue of establishing training infrastructure for hybrid and electric vehicle education in vocational institutions worldwide. By leveraging VR/AR-supported DTMs, the project aims to contribute to equal opportunities in education and improve accessibility.

Additionally, the project seeks to enhance the capacity of vocational education and foster collaboration among vocational education stakeholders at the international level.

Main Activities and Outputs of the Project

• Needs analysis

Determining the appropriate pedagogical approach and VR/AR-based training needs for Hybrid and Electric Vehicle education through stakeholder and needs analyses.

• Content development

Developing unique and modular training programs supported by VR/AR applications and content based on the outcomes of the needs analysis.

• Story board and scenario writing

Writing storyboards and scenarios for VR/AR applications to be developed in alignment with the training modules and content.

• Development of VR/AR applications

Developing digital applications and animations for the content identified during the digital training material development process.

• Development of digital training materials

Writing a book tailored to the developed content that addresses vocational training beneficiaries at all levels and integrating the book with applications through QR codes.

• Pilot trainings

Conducting pilot training sessions at different levels in three countries to test the developed DTMs and determine their contribution to individuals' teaching/learning performance.

• Dissemination and sustainability activities

Conducting project promotion and dissemination seminars, as well as closing seminars, in the partner countries. Publishing all academic data, documents, news, and reports related to the project outputs on the project website. In parallel, maintaining awareness activities regarding project processes and outputs across all social media platforms.

Project Identity

The project titled "Developing Virtual and Augmented Reality (VR/AR) Supported Digital Training Materials for Hybrid and Electric Vehicles" with the number “2023-1-TR01-KA220-VET-000152218” is being conducted under the EU Erasmus+ Program for Strategic Partnerships in Vocational Education. It is coordinated by Bursa Uludağ University in collaboration with Sofia Technical University from Bulgaria, Cluj-Napoca Technical University from Romania, OIB Vocational and Technical High School, and the industry partner SANLAB A.Ş. The project started in January 2025 and will last for 24 months.
